Okoboji Co-Head Coach Erin Frerichs:
receive All-Conference honors. All of our All-Conference runners ran incredible
races, improving between 20 and 42 seconds from 3 weeks ago when we ran the same
course. Grace Goehring and Ali Goehring cut over a minute off of their times.
We figured MOC was going to win the meet, and they did scoring 20 points, so we
knew were racing for 2nd place. Sioux Center got us by 8 points, but are so
proud of the way the girls competed tonight. We have a tough Siouxland
Conference, and an even tougher state qualifying assignment, so we just want to
run our fastest times and see where that puts us next week in Orange City.
Congratulations also to Peace Preston and Abi Meyer who medaled in the JV race.
runners with junior Blake Lineweaver and senior Ryan Chindlund. Both guys ran
well against tough competition. We were really happy to see Ryan close out his
conference career as a 3 time All-Conference runner. Isaac Golke and Isaac
Fritsch ran great races tonight and we hope for continued improvement from them
as we head to Orange City.
