Sioux Center went on an 8-0 run to start the quarter to go ahead 28-24 but Okoboji would battle back to tie it at 37 all entering the fourth quarter. The final frame was a defensive battle as Sioux Center would nudge ahead 44-43 with 3:00 remaining but the Pioneers would score the final eight points of the game, with Morgan Jensen hitting three big free throws, to take the victory. Comments From Okoboji Coach John Adams:
We guarded very well for three quarters and did a great job in the fourth quarter of getting stops. Morgan Jensen had a huge steal and some big free throws down the stretch and Alli Harms also battled extremely hard on the defensive end during the possession when we were up one and Morgan got the steal. We got some great productivity from our bench tonight as they scored 11 points and got some big time rebounds. We’re happy to get the win as Sioux Center has been playing extremely well in some close losses lately, and we can’t wait to get back on the court with this group on Monday.
