National Signing Day for Spirit Lake Seniors

Wed 2-5-2014

February 5th was national signing day, a day for football players to make it official where they intend to continue their playing career at the college level. Spirit Lake coach Josh Bolluyt had the chance to see 5 of his players make their college commitments at a ceremony in the district board room. Sam Harms and Ben Spaeth are on their way to junior college power house Iowa Western in Council Bluffs. The Rievers have become nationally known, perennially in the hunt for a national title. Jacob Jenness and Tyler Alger are staying a little closer to home, continuing their career at Northwestern College in Orange City. The Red Raiders finished last season at 7-2, and made an appearance in the NAIA football championship series, losing in the first round to Missouri Valley. Tanner Kroon signed his letter of intent to play at Southwest Minnesota State University. The Mustangs were 7-4, finishing the 2013 regular season on a 4 game winning streak. Congratulations gentlemen!
