HMS Football Beats Okoboji
Okoboji tamed Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn’s offense after a half of play on Friday night but couldn’t get their offense going in a 28-8 loss to the Hawks on Friday night. The HMS offense racked up 421 yards of total offense with 330 of those coming on the ground. Logan Rozeboom led the way with 146 yards on 16 carries. Hunter Kuehl had 122 yards on 24 carries and two rushing touchdowns. Jordan Japenga caught a 57 yard touchdown pass and Trenton Schirmer had a 10 yard touchdown catch.
The Hawks are 2-1 (1-0) and host LeMars Gehlen next week in a game you can hear on Q102. Okoboji’s lone touchdown came late in the first half when the Hawks lost a fumble on their own 21 yard line. Three plays later, Alex Heller would find the end zone on a 4 yard run. The Pioneers converted the two point conversion to make the score 28-8. Cole Millard had two sacks for Okoboji and Colbin La Rue had a blocked punt as the Pioneers fall to 0-3 (0-1). They host Emmetsburg next week in a game you can hear on Y100.1
