Greg Hegsted of Sanborn has been named Defensive Player of the Year by the Great Plains Athletic Conference. The senior linebacker led the Northwestern College Red Raiders this season with 94 total tackles. He also had 15.5 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks.
Northwestern will travel to Marshall, MO to play Missouri Valley on Saturday in the first round of the NAIA playoffs. Kickoff is scheduled for noon.
