Harris Lake Park baseball season comes to an end

In Algona, Harris-Lake Park saw their season come to a close after dropping a game to Bishop Garrigan 15-0 in 4 innings in Class 1A district 3. The Wolves kept the game close thru the first 3, however the Golden Bears would send 16 batters to the plate in the 4th, with the first 13 all scoring. HLP was unable to pick up a hit thru the 4 innings against winning pitcher Zach Boelter. In all, only two batters for over the minimum for HLP reached base. Freshman pitcher Jordon Kyle took the loss. The Wolves season comes to an end at 7-20. Bishop Garrigan moves on to face West Bend Mallard in the next round. The Wolverines topped GT/RA in the first game Tuesday night in Algona 7-4. That game will be played Thursday back in Algona.

In the other half of the bracket in Class 1A District 3 in a pair of games in Alta, North Union topped Storm Lake St. Mary’s 11-3, and it was Alta Aurelia over Newell Fonda in a 6 inning game 12-2. 1A district 4 scores, Lake Mills beat North Iowa in 4 innings 15-0. It was Riceville over Britt West Hancock 4-0. Mason City Newman topped CAL Latimer 13-0 in 5 innings, and it was Rockford over Belmond Klemme 10-0 in 6 innings. 1A District 1, Lawton Bronson beat Boyer Valley in 4 innings 16-1, West Monona over River Valley in 6 innings 10-0, Woodbury Central topped Westwood Sloan 7-2, and it was Ar We Va over Kinglsey Piersen 7-1. 1A District 2 scores, Remsen St. Mary’s beat George-Little Rock 9-0, West Sioux got by West Lyon 8-7, Lemars Gehlen shut out Akron Westfield 9-0, and it was South Obrien over Central Lyon 4-0.
