Spirit lake opened district football play at home last night against a 1-1 Forest City team. It was the Indians 3rd straight shut out of the year, winning 41-0. Quarterback Alec Henrickson had his best night of the season, unofficially going 14-22 with 313 yards and 4 touchdowns. Alec targeted Austin Folsom for 3 of the scoring strikes. One of the touchdown passes from Henrickson to Folsom went for 99 and a half yards. Next week will mark the first long road trip for Spirit Lake, as they continue district play at Garner Hayfield. Garner has been putting up big numbers offensively this season as well, while also pitching 3 straight shutouts defensively. Friday night Garner had a non district game, winning 59-0 over Westfork of Sheffield. You can hear next week’s game on KUOO.
