Spirit Lake Falls In 2A Football Title Game

West Lyon claimed the Class 2A football championship on Friday 42-7. The Wildcats led 14-0 at halftime but extended the lead in the second half. Spirit Lake would get on the board in the third quarter thanks to a 63-yard pass from Cade Lundt to Dylan Stecker. Spirit Lake was held to eight yards net rushing and had five turnovers. West Lyon with 352 yards in the game compared to Spirit Lakes 204. Jay Rozeboom, the head coach for West Lyon, claimed his sixth championship. That makes him just one of six Iowa high school coaches to hit that mark. They finish with a record of 13-0. Spirit Lake will finish with a record of 11-2. Congratulations Spirit Lake on a fantastic season!
