Pioneer Girls Get Road Win At Sheldon

Okoboji picked up a conference road win vs Sheldon, 49-33 on Thursday night. The Pioneers raced out to an 11-1 lead with 6 points from Peyton Schmitz and 5 from Ava Packebush. Okoboji would maintain that lead at the quarter break, up 18-8. Sheldon started the second quarter with a 6-0 run to trim the lead to 18-14, but the Pioneers would answer with a 9-0 run to end the half and take a 27-14 lead into halftime. Okoboji would build that lead to 39-22 at the end of the third quarter and the Orabs could get no closer than 14 the rest of the way. Ava Packebush led Okoboji with 17 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals; Peyton Schmitz added 16 points and 7 rebounds. Taya Sudbeck led Sheldon with 12 points and 8 rebounds and Charlotte Kuiper added 11 points and 6 rebounds. Okoboji improves to 4-12 on the season while Sheldon falls to 0-15.
