Okoboji played host to Emmetsburg Thursday night in non-conference basketball. The girls game was back and forth from start to finish, and went into overtime before it was decided. The extra period saw the Pioneers out score the E-Hawks by 7 to get the win 52-45. Okoboji was led by Darby Jones with 17 points. Shaelyn Adams also finished in double figures with 11. Emmetsburg was paced by Ashton Connelly with 19. Alexa Naig added 11.
The boys contest Emmetsburg jump out to a quick first quarter lead, only to see Okoboji come back to tie the score after 1. Cold shooting by the E-Hawks combined with tough defense from the Pioneers led to Okoboji picking up their 2nd win of the season, 53-39. Tyeson Barnett was best offensively for Okoboji last night, picking up 14. Alex Heller added 11. For Emmetsburg, Erik Drost led the way with 16.
