Okoboji fell to Class 2A second-ranked Central Lyon 69-39 on Friday night in Rock Rapids. The Lions took quick control of the game and never looked back, jumping out to an 11-2 lead and then building that to 25-5 at the end of the first quarter. The Pioneers would play an even second quarter but still trailed 39-19 entering halftime. Okoboji would get no closer than 18 the rest of the way as the Lions built a 61-29 lead entering the final quarter. Okoboji was led by Ava Packebush who had 12 points while Makenna Helmers added 8 points. Addison Klosterbuer led Central Lyon with 23 points to go over the 1,000 point mark on her career, Desta Hoogendoorn added 15 points. Okoboji falls to 5-8 on the season while Central Lyon improves to 10-0.
