Comments From Okoboji Coach John Adams
West Lyon is a really good team, and they guarded us extremely well tonight. We just had a hard time getting anything going on offense and their zone had a lot to do with that. I was really proud of how hard our girls competed and I felt like we guarded well enough to be in the game, but when you only score 25 points it’s hard to hang with an elite team like West Lyon. We thank our senior managers, Matti for four years of great service to the program and Koleton for stepping up and filming for us this year. I can’t say enough about our senior group of players and what they have meant to our program. They are a very selfless group that has turned into fantastic leaders and showed our younger players what Okoboji Basketball is about on the court and more importantly off the court. We will miss them dearly next year but we are excited to still have a lot of basketball ahead of us yet this season.
Boys Game

The Pioneers had a good finish to the half taking a 33-18 lead going into halftime. Okoboji maintained a 52-34 lead going into the final quarter and ended the game with a 68-49 victory. Okoboji is now 10-8.
Comments From Okoboji Boys Coach Ryan Stumbo
The Pioneers were led by Lucas Lorenzen’s 36 points. Kaleb Peschong added 16. West Lyon was led by Caleb Folkens 19 points. Jaxson Meyer added 14. We were really proud of how we competed tonight as a team. We made some plays and hit some shots to give us a lead going into the half and worked hard the second half to keep giving ourselves good looks offensively to put together a complete game. We had a lot of guys step up on both ends of the floor and appreciated the effort and toughness we had tonight.
