Okoboji Baseball Gets Big 5th Inning To Defeat Sibley Ocheydan (1)

Okoboji broke open a 2-1 pitchers dual, scoring seven runs in the fifth en
route to a 10-2 victory on Tuesday night.  Ben DeMuth led the Pioneers at the
plate, going 3-for-3 with a RBI and a run scored. Holt Hunziker was 3-4 with 4 RBI’s and Matt Eckard was 2-4 with an RBI.  Okoboji had 10 hits as a team.  Hunziker got the
win on the mound as he pitched all seven innings, giving up two unearned runs on
three hits.  He struck out 11 and walked four.  Okoboji is 5-13 (3-9 Siouxland) and
plays a double header at MOC-Floyd Valley Thursday.
 
Sibley-Ocheyedan’s Logan Heibuilt was 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored.  Garret Sayler had a triple and a run scored for the Generals.  Trent Kruger took
the loss on the mound, going four and 2/3 innings.  He gave up eight runs (seven
earned) on eight hits, walking seven, and striking out six.  S-O is still
searching for that first win of the season, they are 0-17 and they host Central Lyon
Wednesday.
