MCW Girls Basketball Season Comes to and End

The MCW girls’ basketball team lost 56 to 47 to the Jaguars of GHEC/ML/T on Monday night. Emily Schettler led the way for the Mavericks with 17 points including going 7 of 8 from the free throw line. Maddie Carlson tossed in 8 points and Ivy Olson had 7 on the night. Keira Benck was on fire in the first half for the Jaguars scoring 16 points including four 3 pointers. Benck ended the night with 22 points. The Mavericks were able to hold Benck in check in the 2nd half but then Londyn Bowers came alive and scored 10 of her 13 points. Addison Nowicki and Charlotte Berhow both had 7 points for the Jaguars. The Mavericks made 14 of 17 free throws on the evening and finish the season at 13-14. The Jaguars move on to play Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s who is ranked #1 in the Section and #3 in the State in class A. That game will be played in St. Peter on Thursday at 6:00. The Mavericks say goodbye to three seniors including Emily Schettler, Courtney Anderson and Addy Wohlhuter.
