The Martin County West softball team dominated a doubleheader in Nicollet with a pair of run-rule wins on Wednesday.
The Mavericks took the first game 12-0 in five innings.
Maddie Carlson tossed 13 strikeouts and hit one batter in her complete game. Carlson also had a trio of hits including a double, batted in one run, and scored three times.
Courtney Anderson collected three hits and a pair of RBIs. Ida Rohman had a pair of hits and an RBI. Emily Schettler smacked a double and plated a run. Rowan Faber batted in one run as well.
The Mavericks completed the sweep with a 10-0 win in five innings.
Anderson had three more hits including a double, an RBI, and scored three times. Addy Wohlhuter had a pair of hits. Faber smacked a three-run double. Carlson had a double and two RBIs. Schettler and Bailey Larson each hit a double and plated one run.
Sydney Clow went the distance and dealt four strikeouts.
MCW has beaten every Class A opponent by run rule so far this year.
The 6-0 Mavericks host GHEC-T-ML on Monday.
LARSON, MCCORKELL LEAD MAVERICKS IN CONFERENCE TOURNEYS
Knox Larson led the Martin County West boys golf team and Morgan McCorkell led the girls in Tomahawk/Valley Conference Tournament play on Wednesday.
Larson posted a score of 93 featuring a trio of birdies on 18 holes to tie for 11th place individually at the Mayflower Country Club in Fairfax.
Carson Scheff tied for 33rd place with a score of 105. Torrey Paplow shot 113 to take 40th place. Tanner Anderson scored 116 as part of a four-way tie for 46th place. Xzavier Moore shot 123 in a tie for 54th place.
The MCW boys collected a team score of 427 to finish ninth place out of 11 teams. Sleepy Eye United collected 345 for the best boys team score ahead of Alden-Conger with 375, G-F-W with 383, Springfield with 383, Cedar Mountain with 389, GHEC-T-ML with 407, New Ulm Cathedral with 415, and St. James/Madelia with 424 ahead of MCW. Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart had 451 and Wabasso had 477 behind the MCW boys.
McCorkell posted the top MCW girls score of 115 featuring one birdie and one par for 24th place on 18 holes at Winthrop Golf Club.
Clare Paulson shot 120 for 32nd place. Aaliyah Bolstad tied for 33rd place with 122. Clare Striemer shot 144 to take 50th place.
The MCW girls collected a team score of 501 for 10th place out of 11 teams. Springfield had the top girls team score of 408 ahead of Sleepy Eye United with 413, Alden-Conger with 424, St. James/Madelia with 457, GHEC-T-ML with 459, New Ulm Cathedral with 472, G-F-W with 476, Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart with 480, and Cedar Mountain with 482. Wabasso shot 539 behind MCW.
The Mavericks visit Alden-Conger at Oak View Golf Club in Alden.
