Knox Larson finished on top of the leaderboard for the Martin County West boys golf team in a Tuesday triangular at Rose Lake Golf Club.
Larson finished as the medalist with a score of 36 on nine holes.
Carson Scheff scored 43 in a three-way tie for fourth place, Torrey Paplow shot 54 in 19th place, and Xzavier Moore had 65 for 24th place.
Fairmont swept the team scores with 171 for the boys ahead of T/GHEC/ML with 175 and MCW with 198 among varsity teams. The Fairmont girls collected 182 ahead of T-GHEC-ML with 221 and MCW with 230 in the team scores.
Morgan McCorkell posted 55 in a tie for seventh place to lead the MCW girls.
Mya Smith and Aaliyah Bolstad each scored 58 to tie for ninth place. Clare Paulson shot 59 for 11th place and Clare Striemer shot 64 in 14th place.
The MCW boys are at the Winthrop Golf Course and the girls are at Mayflower Golf Course in Fairfax for Tomahawk/Valley Conference play beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
UNDEFEATED REBELS RUN-RULE MAVERICKS
The Martin County West baseball team lost to unbeaten United South Central on the road.
The Rebels collected a 13-3 victory over the Mavericks in five innings.
USC started the scoring with three runs in the bottom of the first inning, added another pair in the second, and four more in the third.
Noah Meixell smacked a double to lead off the fourth. Liam Pytleski hit a single to score Meixell and put MCW on the board.
USC made it 10-1 with another run in the home half.
The Mavericks loaded the bases in the fifth. Pytleski delivered another single to score Caiden Loken and Brock Jagodzinske.
USC led 10-3 and then added another trio of runs to finish off the run-rule victory.
The 1-5 Mavericks visit GHEC-T-ML on Thursday. We will have that game on Xtreme and Explore Live Video.
MCW/BO GIRLS 4TH, BOYS 5TH IN ST. JAMES
Evelynn Christenson and Lixon Forsberg led the Martin County West/Butterfield-Odin track and field teams in St. James/Madelia Invitational #3 on Tuesday.
Christenson won the girls 800 Meters and finished runner-up in the 1600 Meters with her best time of the season in each event.
The MCW/BO girls collected 26 points for fourth place as a team.
Forsberg finished on top with a personal best of 18’7” in the Long Jump. He took part in a third-place finish for the 4×200 Relay along with Gavin Schoen, Nathan Kolbe, and Ron Demand.
The MCW/BO boys finished fifth with 30 points as a team.
