JCC Boys Win 12th Straight During Split With Fairmont

The boys basketball team survived for a key victory over Fairmont during a Saturday night doubleheader split for Jackson County Central.


The JCC boys led 30-23 at halftime and stretched the lead out in the second half before hanging on to win 63-60 over the state-ranked Cardinals. It’s the 12th straight victory and fourth this week for the Huskies.
Roman Voss led JCC with 18 points and eight assists. Weston Rowe added 16 points. Voss and Rowe co-led the team with six rebounds each. Sullivan Hall scored 12 points. Blaise Rowe collected eight points, Ben Gallagher put in seven points, and Austin O’Reilly had two points.
The 20-5 Huskies host GHEC-T-ML on Tuesday. The JCC boys are still alive for the Gold division championship in the Big South Conference. The Huskies need the help of a Fairmont loss to St. Peter on Thursday to play in the championship game. The title tilt is scheduled to happen on Monday, January 23 with the Black division champion hosting.

The JCC girls fell behind 51-31 and lost 79-54 to the state-ranked Fairmont girls.
Zadi Farmer dropped 21 points to lead JCC. Mady Wachal scored 13 points and Madelyn Rowe added 10 points to join her in double figures. Kinley VanDeVere collected six points. Aliza Liepold and Tressa Withers each had two points.
The 10-15 Huskies will try to snap a three-game losing streak on Tuesday at home against Martin County West.
