ILCC Mens Golf Results from 4/29

The Iowa Lakes Men’s Golf Team played in the Morningside Invite Monday at Green Valley Golf Course in Sioux City, IA. They Lakers had a season best 294 to finish 3rd behind Morningside’s 278 and Midlan College’s 292. For the Lakers they were led by Ben Nath and Austin Sweeney who came in with a pair of 72’s placing in a tie for 6th, Blake Orton fired a 74 tieing for 12th place. Brandon Klein shot a 76 to finish in a tie for 16th place. Non-counting score was Joe Dakken’s 80 which placed him in a tie for 23rd. Iowa Lakes second team shot a 316 to finish 6th. They were led by Jeremy Wollenburg who shot a 76 tieing for 16th place. Zach Carlson fired a 79 for 22nd place. Michael Pace came in with an 80 for a tie for 23rd place and Nathan Kyle shot an 81 tieing for 26th place. Non-Counting score was Ty Asa who shot an 81 for a tie for 28th place.

“The men played a lot better today and scores showed that. I have to give a lot of praise to Matt Young from Morningside who shot a 62 today. For us we will keep practicing hard and get ready for the Regional Tournament. This is the time of the year where we have to be sharp with our games and the men made a big step in that direction today.” Said Coach Andy Soper

Next action for the Lakers will be Sunday and Monday May 4th and 5th when they will travel to the Fort Dodge Country Club to play in the NJCAA Men’s Region 11 Golf Championship and play for a chance to go to the National Tournament.
