The Jackson County Central basketball teams swept Tuesday night’s split doubleheader to finish off the regular season.
The JCC girls outlasted Martin County West 65-62 in a back-and-forth affair to snap a three-game Huskies losing streak.
Zadi Farmer dropped 33 points as the leading scorer on the night. Madelyn Rowe collected 11 points with 10 of them in the second half. Aliza Liepold added six points. Mady Wachal, Kinley VanDeVere, and Tressa Withers all scored five points.
Maddie Carlson led MCW with 15 points. Courtney Anderson and Bailey Larson each scored 13 points. Ida Rohman added 11 points to put four Mavericks in double figures. Ivy Olson put in six points and Emily Schettler had four points.
The 13-13 Mavericks have lost three straight games to AA opponents entering the postseason.
The 11-15 Huskies visit St. James on Friday to begin the Section 3AA Tournament. Our coverage begins at 6:45 on KKOJ.
The JCC boys extended their winning streak to 13 games and finished the regular season unbeaten at home in a runaway from GHEC-T-ML during the nightcap.

Roman Voss posted a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds along with a team-high four assists. Weston Rowe led JCC by scoring 16 points. Sullivan Hall scored 15 points and Carter Buhl added 10 points to put four JCC players in double figures. Blaise Rowe and Jacob Kruger collected six points. Ben Gallagher and Austin O’Reilly each put in four points. Kash Gilbert, Mason Foster, Michael Reipke, and Ashton Singvongsa each had two points.
The 21-5 Huskies visit Belle Plaine for the Big South Conference championship game next Tuesday and then move on to the section tournament.
