HMS Comes Up Short To Hinton

Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn came up just short in a 34-27 back and forth game in
Hinton on Friday Night.  Neither team had much luck in the first quarter as they
combined for two fumbles, a missed field goal, and three punts.  The Blackhawks
got on the board first thanks to a 45 yard punt return for a touchdown by
Terrill Henrich with 10:29 to go before halftime.  The two teams then traded
touchdowns including a 50 yard touchdown pass to Blake Simons and a 2 yard
touchdown run by Jordan Japenga.  Hinton scoring as time expired in the first
half to go up 19-13.  In the second half, Blake Simons stripped the ball away
from Blake Mossberg and set the Hawks up to retake the lead in the third.  This
time it was an 11 yard touchdown pass to Brian Perez to make the score 20-19
Hawks, but that would be the last lead of the game for HMS.  Hinton scored again
in the third, completed a two point conversion and then got another touchdown to
pad the lead in the fourth.  HMS would get a 4 yard touchdown run by Japenga with
2:47 to go but would fail to recover the onside kick.
