Farmer Scores 1,000 During Huskies Split

The Jackson County Central basketball teams split results during a milestone evening at home on Tuesday night. 

The JCC girls trailed 37-26 at halftime and lost 72-60 to Westbrook-Walnut Grove.

Huskies freshman Zadi Farmer surpassed 1,000 career points with a three-pointer during the first half. She is the 10th JCC girl to reach that milestone. Farmer finished with a team-high 21 points against the Chargers. Mady Wachal and Kinley VanDeVere each added a dozen points. Madelyn Rowe collected six points, Tressa Withers put in four points, Paige Benda made a three-pointer, and Aliza Liepold had two points. 

The 10-14 JCC girls host state-ranked Fairmont as part of the varsity doubleheader on Saturday. 

The JCC boys rallied to lead Maple River 19-17 at halftime and pulled away from the Eagles 59-46 for their 10th straight victory. 

Roman Voss had a team-high 15 points and co-led JCC with eight rebounds. Blaise Rowe scored 13 points. Weston Rowe added 12 points and eight rebounds of his own. Ben Gallager collected six points and six assists. Jacob Kruger also scored six points. Sullivan Hall had four points and seven rebounds. Mason Foster made a three-pointer. 

The 18-5 JCC boys host Blue Earth Area for Parents Night on Friday before hosting Fairmont on Saturday.
