The Emmetsburg rolls into the playoffs on a 4 game winning streak thanks to a high scoring 62-38 victory over Lake Mills to wrap up the regular season. The E’hawks scored on their opening possession, using just 3 plays before Wes Schultes ran it in from 73 yard out. After the missed extra point, it was 6-0. They would add another touchdown in the 1st and go up. Eventually they pushed the lead to 28-14 at the half. In the second half, Lake Mills came back to get within 6 points at 28-22. After that, Emmetsburg scored the next 27 points to go up 55-22. The E’hawks would then make some changes to their lineups and Lake Mills would score a couple late touchdown’s to make it a 24 point game in the end. The teams would combine for 100 points and 14 touchdowns.
Emmetsburg had 3 backs go over 100 yards in Jacob Kibbie with 166, Greg Wesley with 148 and Wes Schultes with 140. Overall, the E’hawks rushed for over 630 yards. Emmetsburg finishes with a record of 6-3 and will be the #2 seed in Class 1A District 3. Lake Mills is 3-6 and is the #4 seed in the playoffs which start on Wednesday October 29th.
