CRUSADERS PULL AWAY FROM MAVERICKS IN MANKATO

The Martin County West baseball team lost in Mankato on Thursday.
Mankato Loyola beat the Mavericks 10-3 at ISG Field.
Liam Pytleski gave MCW the initial lead with an RBI double that scored Preston Cepress in the top of the first inning. Cepress finished with a pair of hits and walked once as well.
The Crusaders took their first lead with a pair in the home half and then added five more in the second. Easton Kuehl sacrificed Michael McCorkell home and Noah Meixell scored later in the top of the third as well. The Crusaders scored once more in the fourth, fifth, and sixth for the final score.
Kaleb Kennedy took the loss for MCW with seven earned runs allowed on seven hits plus one strikeout and a pair of walks in three innings. Caiden Loken, Maddex Faber, and Huxley Clow also pitched for MCW.
The 2-7 Mavericks visit GHEC-T-ML on Friday and will be looking to avenge Wednesday’s home loss to the Jaguars. First pitch is at 4:30 in Truman.
