This Tuesday February 4th in Spirit Lake will be Coaches vs. Cancer night as the Indians welcome in the E’hawks from Emmetsburg in girls and boys basketball. Coaches vs. Cancer is annual event through the American Cancer Society where coaches and schools have the opportunity to promote fundraising events to provide help and hope to all people facing cancer. Every day in Iowa, approximately 47 people are diagnosed with some form of cancer. On Tuesday, they will do a 47 second run thru the stands for donations. Fans and community members may bring their spare change to give to the cause and toss in the jars.
Brock Holman from the Spirit Lake High School says there will be plenty of chances for you to give money on Tuesday and possibly win some great prizes by purchasing raffle tickets for $5.
If you are hungry, come early for a great meal. They will be serving a walking taco, cookie and a drink for $5.
All proceeds from the evening will go to the American Cancer Society. Coaches vs. Cancer in Spirit Lake will be Tuesday February 4th as Spirit Lake hosts Emmetsburg in girls and boys basketball.
