Harris Lake Park broke open a 2-2 ballgame in the fourth inning with a 3 RBI double to right by Emily Anderson and the Wolves eliminated the Clay Central-Everly Mavericks 6-3 in the opening round of Class 1A Region 2 Softball on Monday night. The Wolves only had two hits in the contest but made the most of walks and CC-E errors to accumulate their runs. Anderson went 1-for-2 with 3 RBI and a run scored. Mariah Gath scored two runs. Macy Gunderson got the win on the mound, giving up 3 runs (all earned) on seven hits. She struck out two and walked one.
The Mavericks’ offense was led by Stevie Scott, who went 2-for-3 with a run scored. Maddie Larson went 1-for-2 with an RBI double. Rebecca White was 1-for-3 with an RBI single and a walk. Larson took the loss on the mound, giving up the 6 runs (4 earned) on just the two hits. She struck out three and walked two. CCE ends their season at 7 – 15
