The Spirit Lake boys tennis team beat Cherokee Saturday 5-1 to advance to the Class 1A boys substate team tennis competition in Fort Dodge on Saturday May 18th.
In the semifinal round, Spencer takes on Clear Lake and Spirit Lake will take on Fort Dodge St. Edmond.
One hour after the completion of the semi-final round, the winners will compete to determine the team advancing to the State Team Tennis Tournament.
There will be a coaches meeting at 8:30 AM that morning and then play will begin following the meeting.
