Starting in the 2026-27 school year, the school districts of Cherokee, Estherville Lincoln Central, Spencer, and Storm Lake will join the Siouxland Conference. The conference’s Board of Directors approved the invitation on December 17, and all four of our school districts have now accepted.
This realignment will create a “Super Conference” of 16 schools. It will provide a stable and sustainable environment for our student-athletes, while encouraging long-term growth and partnerships across schools throughout our region.
Additionally, Spirit Lake and Western Christian will join the expanded Siouxland Conference. The conference currently includes Boyden-Hull, Central Lyon, MOC-Floyd Valley, Okoboji, Rock Valley, Sheldon, Sibley-Ocheyedan, Sioux Center, Unity Christian, and West Lyon.
Our districts’ membership in the Siouxland Conference will officially begin August 1, 2026. We look forward to the impact this realignment will have on our students, staff, families, fans, and communities in the years ahead.
