2024 State Wrestling: Day 3 Results

Class 1A – Emmetsburg

165 Pounds
Justin Wirtz won his 4th round consolation match by fall in 1 minute 59 seconds. He would also win his 5th round consolation match by fall in 3 minutes 47 seconds over Jackson Kounkel of Hinton. He will wrestle in the consolation semifinals Saturday morning and can finish as high as third or as low as 6th.

175 Pounds
Jace Nelson-Brown won his semifinal match by major decision 10-1 over Titus Evans of Nashua-Plainfield. Nelson-Brown will wrestle for the championship against Kaiden Knaack of Don Bosco on Saturday night.

285 Pounds
Gage Jorgenson lost his 4th round consolation match in the 3rd overtime 5-2 to Tyler Sulsberger of Westwood, Sloan to end his tournament. He will finish with a record of 26-6.

Class 1A – GT/RA

126 Pounds
Caleb Swedin lost his semifinal match 4-3 to Brock Morris of Cascade. He will wrestle in the consolation semifinals Saturday morning and can finish as high as 3rd or as low as 6th place.

Class 1A – Sibley/Ocheyedan

144 Pounds
Dawson Beyer lost his 4th round consolation match by fall in 1 minute 8 seconds to eliminate him from the tournament. He will finish with a record of 43-8.

285 Pounds
Michael Block won his 4th round consolation match by fall in 3 minutes 57 seconds over Aiden McFadden of Baxter. In the 5th round consolations, he lost by fall in 2 minutes 38 seconds to Aiden Salow of Maquoketa Valley. Michael will wrestle for 7th place Saturday afternoon.

Class 3A – Spencer

106 Pounds
Connor Stickrod lost his 4th round consolation match by tech fall 18-3. He finishes one win shy of placement and will finish the season with a record of 25-10.
