Comments From SLO Coach Dan Taylor
What an outstanding day for this team and our program! Over the past 20 years our team has had numerous all-conference players and has finished the regular season in first place in the conference a few times. However, this is the first time in the past 20 years that the boys have finished 1st place as a team at this particular event. I am very proud of them, and couldn’t be happier with their effort and acheivement. Alex played at a high level all day, not giving up more than 3 games in any set. Evan and Bennett were dominant, only dropping 2 total games in 4 sets. JD and Will also had a strong showing, going 4-0 and also not giving up more than 3 games in any set. Luke was able to finish in 2nd and receive honorable mention as well, even though he dropped 2 sets to a couple of guys who were playing extremely well today. I don’t believe our program has ever had all 6 participants recieve all-conference honors, so once again, the guys achieved fantastic milestones today. It is also notable that this is Evan Beck’s 3rd straight year receiving all-conference honors, receiving honorable mention in 2022 and first team in 2023 and 2024!
