Mervin Roach, 102, of Spirit Lake, passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Accura Healthcare of Spirit Lake.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, in the Lake View Gardens Cemetery in Okoboji, IA. Arrangements are under the direction of the Robinson Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. Online condolences may be left at www.spiritlakefuneralhome.com
Mervin was born on March 16, 1923, to Ben and Ruth Roach. He was united in marriage to Pearl Louise Bell. Five children were born to this union, Gary, Patricia, Michael, Debra and Wade. After Pearl’s death, Mervin married Margaret Hiles. Mervin was a life long farmer in the rural Estherville and Spirit Lake area. Mervin also sold feed and seed, he worked at Berkley’s and drove semi.
In his younger years he enjoyed traveling the world with Pearl. Later in life he enjoyed collecting tractors. He also enjoyed playing cards and taking care of his lawn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, both wives, sons Gary and Michael, siblings Myrtle, Ellen, LeRoy, and Joan.
He is survived by his children, Patricia Johnson, Debra (Stan) Ellman, and Wade (Sandra) Roach, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
