(Arnolds Park)– A popular program that teaches youth how to safely operate a boat is coming back to the lakes area this spring.
The Spirit of America Youth Boating Program is a national initiative that teaches youth about water safety with hands-on training. In a camp-like setting, young boaters learn smart boating practices using real-life drills involving a variety of vessels, from personal watercraft to sailboats.
Parents of youth interested in participating in the program will be able to get more information and register for it this coming Saturday and Sunday, April 2nd and 3rd at Oak Hill Marina in Arnolds Park. DNR Conservation officer Gary Owen and program instructors will be on hand to provide more information and answer questions.
