(Spirit Lake)– The YMCA’s Igniting a Healthy Legacy Campaign has received a significant boost. According to a press release from the organization, the Spirit Lake City Council recently voted to allocate $200,000 toward the effort this fiscal year with an additional $100,000 to be paid out over the next five years.
YMCA of the Okoboji’s CEO Andrew Fisher says it brings phase 1 funding of the campaign to near 100 percent. The first phase includes the recent renovation of the Bedell Family YMCA Aquatics Center; the Camp Foster Dining Hall renovation and expansion and airnasium projects currently under construction, along with retiring organizational debt and facilitating partial endowment growth through designated funds to support organizational sustainability.
