(Sibley)– No injuries were reported in a freak accident this past Sunday evening in Osceola county.
The Sheriff’s Office says 40-year-old Andres Garcia of Worthington was driving a 2000 Mercury Cougar westbound on Highway 9 when he met an eastbound vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. Authorities say that caused the hood on Garcia’s vehicle to pop up and strike the front window, resulting in Garcia losing control of the vehicle which went into the south ditch.
About $1,500 in damage was estimated to the vehicle.
Garcia was cited for failure to have valid driver’s license.
The incident took place around 8:20 p.m.
