(Arnolds Park)– Not only will it be Walleye Weekend this weekend in the Iowa Great Lakes, but the Arnolds Park-Okoboji Fire Department will also be holding its annual pancake feed fundraiser.
The event will be held Friday from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. and again Saturday from 7:00 a.m. until 12 Noon at the Arnolds Park station.
In addition to the trucks and equipment on display, Fire Chief Chris Yungbluth says the fire safety trailer will also be available.
In addition to that, a piece of steel from the World Trade Center that the department has acquired through the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey will be on display at this weekend’s breakfast. Yungbluth says plans are being made to put the relic on permanent display at the Okoboji station.
Proceeds from this weekend’s pancake feed go to purchase updated equipment for firefighters.
Tickets will be available at the door.
