Work On Stakeout Road In Okoboji About To Get Underway

August 19, 2024 Steve Schwaller

(Okoboji)– A major road project is about to get underway in Okoboji. City Administrator Michael Meyers says the work will be taking place on Stakeout Road between Highway 71 to just north of the Chalstrom Beach area…

“Right after Labor Day that street will be getting a mill and overlay and some re-construction, too. It would be my recommendation that folks detour around that on their daily commutes to and from. Those who live along Stakeout Road who work or the Sanitary District has their lift station there, that will remain open for local access to the best of our ability. But if you’re a user who uses it for through traffic, between Labor Day and for about four to five weeks I would detour around it.”

As we reported previously work on Highway 71 through the lakes corridor will also be resuming immediately following Labor Day. Most of the work during this upcoming phase will be taking place in Arnolds Park. A public informational meeting on that is set for 5:30 pm this Wednesday at The Pavilion in Arnolds Park.
