Work About To Get Underway On Spencer North Y Project

(Spencer)– Work is about to get underway on some improvements on the north side of Spencer. An engineer for the city told the city council Monday the work at the North Y is scheduled to start May 1st…

“We had a pre-construction meeting last week. Lots of contractors, lots of utility companies, obviously city staff. It was a good meeting to get everybody on the same page. They’ve indicated that they’re going to start moving dirt the week of May 1st on that project which will be followed up by utility construction. Obviously concrete, paving at some point. So good news is they’re going to get started. It sounds like they want to get a lot of the work done this year. It is, I believe, next year, completion date. Late spring or early summer.”

DeLoss Construction of Spencer is the general contractor on the $4.3 million project.
