(Spirit Lake)—A Spirit Lake woman who has a longstanding history with 4-H and the Dickinson County Fair has been named the official 2011 “Dean of the Dickinson County Fair”.
The title was bestowed upon Marian Brunsvold Sunday evening during opening activities at the fair.
Each year a committee selects a fair volunteer that promotes the true spirit of the Dickinson County Fair by touching the lives and warming the hearts of youth.
Brunsvold and her husband Wally have four children and 11 grandchildren, all of whom have been involved in 4-H.
Marian has spent her last four years as the “official photographer” for the Dickinson County Fair.
Prior “Dean of the Dickinson County Fair” recipients have included Kurt Smith in 2008; Beth Will in 2009 and Melvin Wernimont in 2010.
