(Okoboji)– A woman is jailed after allegedly trying to strangle another female in an incident Tuesday evening in Okoboji.
Police were called to Lake Okoboji Resort, formerly Arrowwood, a little before 8:00 pm. Following an investigation, 31-year-old Cornelia Williamson was arrested and charged with domestic abuse assault impeding air or blood flow…a class “D” felony, and domestic abuse assault causing injury or mental illness…1st offense…a serious misdemeanor. Williamson was booked into the Dickinson county jail.
A criminal complaint states that the victim sustained marks across her neck as a result of the attempted strangulation along with scratches and bruises to her right arm. She was taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare.
