With More Heat In The Forecast Comes A Reminder For Pet Owners

June 16, 2022 Steve Schwaller

(Spencer)– Hot weather is expected to return to the region the latter part of the upcoming weekend, lasting into early next week. Jen Johnson Ross of People For Pets reminds pet owners of the potential dangers for our furry friends when the temperature climbs. She has some recommendations…

“Make sure they have a shady spot to be in; fresh, clean water; and you know what? Now is not the time to take them for a ride and leave them in the car without the car running. Because in a matter of minutes, that car can turn into an oven and kill your dog or your cat, or your child. So right now with this heat wave we need to be very aware and look out for one another, especially our animal friends.”

Temperatures in the 90’s are expected to return Sunday, with triple digit readings possible Monday.
