(Spirit Lake)– Snowblowers, snowmobiles, cross-country skis and other snow-related equipment is coming out of hibernation after a winter storm dropped nearly six inches of snow on the Iowa Great Lakes Thursday night and early this (Fri.) morning.
Numerous schools started late, some even called off classes entirely.
Authorities report no serious accidents so far.
Road conditions are expected to improve as the day goes on, the snow continues to taper off, and the plows do their job.
