(Arnolds Park)– The deadline for nominating cheerleaders for the upcoming University of Okoboji Winter Games is quickly approaching.
Nominations must be submitted to the Iowa Great Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce office in Arnolds Park by Tuesday, January 5th. Voting will take place at the next meeting of the Winter Games Committee Thursday, January 7th.
Eight cheerleaders will be selected. They’ll be honored Saturday, January 30th at 6:30 p.m. during the annual Fireworks Extravaganza.
Nominees must be a resident of Dickinson county and meet the following requirements: a person with a ready smile, cheerful disposition and a generous heart; someone with zeal in promoting the Iowa Great Lakes area; a person who is enthusiastic about what the area has to offer and who has a deep love and concern for its history and future development; a person who has spirit and devotion and goes above and beyond the call of duty to encourage creative talents; and someone concerned about creating a cheerful and pleasant atmosphere for visitors.
Nomination forms are availabe at the chamber office in Arnolds Park.
U of O Winter Games will be held January 29th, 30th and 31st, 2010 on Smith’s Bay, weather-permitting.
