(Spencer)– What started as a welfare check earlier this week ended up with a Spencer woman being jailed on a drug charge.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called shortly after 11:30 p.m. Tuesday to check on the well being of a resident at 3655 240th Avenue lot 25 in Spencer. Upon arriving deputies learned there was a possibility of drug paraphernalia in the residence.
A subsequent search of the residence turned up what’s alleged to be numerous items of drug paraphernalia.
The resident at that address, 29-year-old Bonnie Wells, was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia…a simple misdemeanor. She was booked into the Clay county jail on a $300 cash or surety bond.
