(Spencer)– A weekend traffic stop in Clay county has resulted in the arrests of two men on various charges.
The Sheriff’s Office says it stems from a traffic stop a deputy made Saturday evening.
Upon investigating, the deputy discovered a front-seat passenger, 24-year-old Brian Hinds of Des Moines, was wanted on two Polk county warrants for failure to appear in court on an original charge of O.W.I.
Authorities also determined a rear passenger, 23-year-old Cory Sheeler of Boyden, was in possession of what’s alleged to be drug paraphernalia.
Hinds and Sheeler were both booked into the Clay county jail. Sheeler was later released on a 300-dollar cash bond; Hinds remains held on a four thousand dollar cash-only bond and is awaiting extradition.
Authorities say their investigation continues and more arrests are expected.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol and the Spencer Police Department.
