Weekend Traffic Stop Results In Drug Charges

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– A weekend traffic stop in Clay county resulted in the arrest of a Lakeside man on a drug charge.

Authorities say a deputy pulled over a vehicle early Saturday for a traffic violation. Upon investigating, the deputy detected a strong smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A subsequent investigation resulted in the deputy finding what’s alleged to be marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.

The suspect, 27-year-old Nicholas Jeffrey, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance…marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding. He was booked into the Clay county jail without incident.
