(Estherville)– We now know who will hold the ward 3 seat on the Estherville City Council now that write-in votes have been tallied. The Emmet County Auditor’s Office says Tim Ahrens received the highest amount and that the position is his if he wants it.
That seat has been vacant since this past August when longtime Councilman Dave Seylar moved to another area of Estherville. No one had filed papers for the seat for Tuesday’s election.
The Emmet County Auditor’s Office says they processed 712 write-in votes in Tuesday’s election.
