(Arnolds Park)– Restrictions on watering lawns and gardens could be coming to two lakes area communities next summer.
Officials with Central Water System, which supplies water to the cities of Arnolds Park and Okoboji, say they noticed a significant rise in demand this summer due to an increase in lawn watering. They say it puts an added strain on capacity at the treatment plant.
The matter was discussed briefly at city council meetings in both towns last week, but no action was taken.
