(Undated)– Water use restrictions are being lifted around Big Spirit Lake, the east side of East Lake Okoboji, Upper Gar, Minnewashta and Lower Gar Lakes. Restrictions are also being lifted in the cities of Spirit Lake, Arnolds Park, Orleans and Milford.
Steve Anderson, Superintendent of the Iowa Great Lakes Sanitary District, says that while they’ve been seeing significant improvements over the past 12 hours, they do continue to see high flows. He says bypasses continue at several locations on West Lake Okoboji and on the west side of East Lake Okoboji.
Anderson adds the Sanitary District staff continues to work around-the-clock and that they are constantly moving resources in an effort to continue to lower the volume of water in the system.
