Water Rates Could Be On The Way Up In Two Lakes Area Cities

February 25, 2025 Steve Schwaller

(Arnolds Park)– Arnolds Park residents could soon be paying more for water. The city council last week set April 9th as the date for a public hearing on a possible rate increase.

Under the proposal, rates for minimum users would go from $90 per quarter to $95 per quarter effective July 1st. Those who use amounts larger than the minimum would see their rates go up from $6.70 per 1,000 gallons to $7.25 per 1,000 gallons.

City officials say it’s due to increases being passed on from Central Water, which also supplies the city of Okoboji with drinking water.
