Walls Starting To Go Up For New H-LP Elementary School

(Lake Park)– Construction continues on the new Harris-Lake Park Elementary School. Superintendent Gary Richardson tells KUOO news the progress is becoming more visible…

“The walls of the gym are going up, the foundation has been poured om the exterior and also the foundation pads on the interior have been poured. All the plumbing and all of the plumbing and electrical that needs to be dug has been dug so that infrastructure has been taken care of and I think the guys from Hoogendorn are just hoping that the steel gets here the first of December and we can start going up vertically.”

Voters in the Harris-Lake Park School District approved an $18.6 million bond issue back in November of 2023 that will fund not only that part of the project but also renovations at the middle school/high school. Construction on that part of the project hasn’t started yet.
