(Terril)– Voters in the Terril and Graettinger school districts Tuesday approved a proposal to merge the two districts into one.
In the Terril district, 143 were in favor, 85 against. In the Graettinger district, 280 voted yes, nine no.
Under the merger, the combined districts will have one school board and one Business Manager.
The two districts have shared a Superintendent, some school buildings and many classes since 2004. They also share a mascot and school colors.
Like most, the Terril and Graettinger school districts have suffered from shrinking enrollment. Their combined enrollment has dropped by more than a third over the past decade.
